WELCOME

This website* is my online portfolio for creative research, as well as for information relating to my extended professional activities.  It is my intention that this interface will elucidate and contextualize key elements and contributions of my career to date – highlighting my engagement at local, national, and international plateaux – as well as my commitment to excellence in Teaching and Service at the University of Regina, and to the extended communities I serve.  For more information on how to navigate this site, please click here.

Note:  If you are looking for my art, it can be found in the Portfolio section from the Creative Research drop-down in the navigation bar above.

NEWS

A good few months...

May 2012
Shortlisted! My recent print Run has been shortlisted for the 2012 National Printmaking Awards, organized by Open Studio in Toronto.  The awards will be  handed out at 100 Prints at the Palais Royale in Toronto, on May 17.  The Saskatchewan Arts Board has generously provided travel funding so that I can attend the event.

Promotion to Associate Professor!  Word from Dean Sheila Petty arrived by confidential memorandum on May 2, 2012.

April 2012
Prairie Postmodern tv shoot with host, Dr. Curtis Collins from the Dunlop Art Gallery.  Air date on Access Regina in late May or June, TBD.
Stay tuned.

Grace Kathleen Truszkowski was born on April 3, 2012.  She was kind enough to wait for me to return from my trip to BC, where I opened Penance at the VPAG, and attended the opening for the 2012 Okanagan Print Triennial.

March 2012
Artist talk and studio visits at the University of British Columbia - Okanagan, March 30, 2012.

Penance opened at the Vernon Public Art Gallery on March 29, 2012.  This exhibition was the culmination of more than 2 years of work, initiated by my winning the 2009 Okanagan Print Triennial.

Tenure!  The official letter from University of Regina President Vianne Timmons came on March 26, 2012.

* The original incarnation of this site also served as my application for tenure and promotion in the Department of Visual Arts, at the University of Regina.  An archive of that application can be found in the Tenure & Promotion 2012 heading of the navigation bar above, or by clicking here.
